Emily Badger examines the idea of prosumerism – the concept that consumers increasingly take a more active role in the production side of the goods and services they buy. She notes that we have seen a steady progression of this over a variety of industries, and she expects the DIY generation to carry the idea into business and home spaces. Badger predicts that the lines that were drawn between living and work spaces during the industrial revolution will be continually blurred as time goes on, altering the way our cities and our lives operate.
