Want Families Downtown? Design for Them!

Brent Toderian addresses several questions relating to families and downtown spaces. First, he reviews the old adage that “kids are the indicator species of a great neighborhood”. Toderian addresses the concerns that kids are incompatible with the other attractions of downtowns such as nightlife, before concluding that a downtown can include something for everyone because he’s seen it – in his native Vancouver. Toderian argues that kids aren’t in downtowns because they are not planned for, and that is something that can be changed. Link to full story.
